Over the years, many different types of maintenance programs (and acronyms) used for the purpose of maintaining industrial equipment have sort of “come & gone”. Many of these maintenance procedures are still in existence today and have a place in maintenance, but oftentimes have limitations as to what they can achieve and the benefits of there use. There are many types that reflect different maintenance programs, such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Scheduled Maintenance (SM) or Preventative Maintenance (PM) to name a few.
